From 1 July 2026, the rules for the taxation of imported goods in the European Union will change. As a result, all goods arriving from non-EU countries may be subject to customs duties and taxes. This is a mandatory decision by the European Commission and is not a choice made by DHL.

What does the charge consist of?

Taxes officially set by the Customs of the Republic of Lithuania:

-Customs duty

-€3 for each type of goods in the shipment

-VAT (Value Added Tax)

DHL service fee for carrying out customs procedures on your behalf, including the use of our account to pay taxes to the Customs of the Republic of Lithuania before delivery:

-Customs clearance / administration fee

Can DHL waive these charges?

No. These charges have already been paid to the Customs of the Republic of Lithuania on behalf of DHL. Therefore, DHL must recover the amount paid. If you do not agree to pay, the shipment will be returned to the sender.

What options do you have?

• If you agree to receive the shipment:

Please pay the applicable charges to the courier or online via the payment link you received by SMS or email prior to delivery.

• If you do not agree to pay:

You may refuse the shipment, and it will be returned to the sender free of charge. In this case, please inform us of your decision by email at: dhl4you.lt@dhl.com

Can you get a refund of the paid charges?

If you decide not to pay the charges and refuse the shipment, you should contact the seller or the company from which you purchased the goods regarding a refund.
